  1. Proyecto Hidroeléctrico Coca Codo Sinclair EP1 - San Rafael Waterfall (Thursday 12/8/2016, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
    • Location: Napo and Sucumbíos provinces (Northeast Ecuador)
    • Distance: 200 km (one-way from Quito approx.)
    • Description: The Coca Codo Sinclair Hydroelectric Project, 1,500 Mw of power, is an emblematic project of the Ecuadorian Government, the largest one built in Ecuador.
    • It represents an investment of 2 billion USD, in order to guarantee energy sovereignty. It started operating in 2016. See it on Dropbox
    • It is an environmentally responsible project, which uses water as fuel and most of its work is made underground, reducing its impact.

  2. Universidad Regional Amazónica IKIAM2 Campus in Tena, Napo – Napo River (Friday 12/9/16 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
    • Location: Napo province
    • Distance: 185 km (one-way from Quito)
    • Description: Universidad Regional Amazónica IKIAM (which means rainforest in Shuar, an indigenous language from the region) is located in Muyuna (Napo Province) in the Ecuadorian Amazon, 8 kilometers away from the city of Tena. It is situated near the origin of the most important river basin on the planet and the home of the largest global biodiversity. IKIAM is an innovative project, as it is understood as a system of science, technology and innovation, articulated to several subsystems for the generation of knowledge.
    • The University is located on 246 hectares of land, adjacent to the Biological Reserve Colonso-Chalupas (Reserva Biológica ColonsoChalupas-RBCC). This reserve was recently declared a protected area by the Ecuadorian Government. The reserve measures 93,246 hectares, and ranges from lowland Amazon rainforest (477 m.a.s.l.) up to the high Andean mountains (4,480 m.a.s.l.).
